Women golfers continue strong play

It has been busy around here and I haven’t had a chance to write anything in a while. I have two events to catch up on, including a great effort by the ladies in Victoria.

At the Islander Classic the Corpus Christi, Kirsten Spittler finished second medalist and Shelby Hardy got her second consecutive top 10 finish of the spring season. The team finished fifth overall.

During spring break, we played in a strong 16-team field in Victoria where the Bearkats received a third place trophy. Landa Stewart finished tied for fifth individually. The team finish was quite an accomplishment because we were playing without one player who got sick after the first round. Following the first 18 holes we were in fifth place, and moved up two spots over the remainder of the tournament playing one player short. Great job ladies!
